We are seeking a hardworking and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room (OR) team, which includes surgical technologists, nursing assistants, schedulers, instrument technicians, and MDs. This position will serve an all-adult patient population. Schedule: This position will be working 64 hours every 2 weeks on the rotating day/evening/night shifts (mostly day shifts). schedule includes: 8 hour shifts, weekday call as needed, currently 1 weekend shift (usually call) per schedule period. They should be able to assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological stability of the surgical patient. They may also serve as a circulator or scrub during operative procedures. Implements protective measures prior to operative or invasive procedure, including measures to prevent skin or tissue injury due to thermal, mechanical, electrical and chemical sources. Confirms identity before the operative or invasive procedure and verifies operative procedure, surgical site and laterality. Applies safety devices, performs required counts, manages specimen handling and disposition. Demonstrates knowledge about the psychologic, sociologic, and spiritual responses of patients and their families to the operative or other invasive procedure. Applies principles of aseptic technique while establishing and maintaining sterile fields. Performs skin preparations, monitors for wound contamination, and classifies the surgical wound. Ensures perioperative environmental sanitation.
