The Senior Field Civil Engineer – PFE represents the Royal Commission (the Owner), to ensure the safety and quality standards of the project are met. This work is accomplished by the Engineer’s review of the construction related documents. The Engineer provides an interface between RC Engineering and the Contractor to resolve technical issues. The Engineer assists other Field Engineers to ensure that the work is constructed in compliance with project drawings and specifications. The Engineer coordinates with the Contractor through field engineers to document all civil field activities and performs regular inspections to check #progress, #quality and #safety of the projects. __ Major Responsibilities: Lead a team of field engineers for the review of design, design calculations, materials, work plans, safety plans, quality plans, procurement plans, TQs, FCDs, technical submittals and RFI’s for ongoing work activities. Review, interpret contract documents and construction plans and offer guidance to other field engineers. Review Contractors design and construction submittals, including work method statements, safety plans, quality plans and traffic control plans for compliance with RC requirements. __ Perform the following onsite operations and inspections for Contractors, but not limited to monitoring Quality Control, Construction Audits, Technical Review and Construction Site Training. Design and/or Construction experience in projects such as Major Buildings, Educational and Recreational Facilities, Hospitals, Roads and Bridges, Site Preparation, Site Development, Site Infrastructure, Airports, Ports and Pipelines, Electrical Substations, Pumps and Lift Stations. Subject Matter Expert in respective discipline with a strong understanding of Quality in Construction, construction means, methods and requirements, including experience reviewing contractors’ construction related documents for compliance with contract documents. _. Ability to review designs, assess the adequacy of Engineering proposals, Design Change Notices (DCNs) and the responses from Engineering to Field Change Documents (FCDs), Technical Submittals (TSs) and Technical Queries (TQs) and able to solve the interface problems Be able to review and prepare correspondence, reports, analysis and the ability to deliver effective presentations about construction/engineering related issues. Provide leadership and guidance to the Field Engineers to improve contractor’s performance with respect to the required quality standards stated in the contract documents. Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
