Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Arranges and maintains equipment and supplies for performance of dialysis and other procedures, including preparation of Dialysate solutions. Performs cannulation, initiates, monitors and discontinues #dialysis treatment. Observes and monitors patient vital signs and significant dialysis treatment parameters; assesses #patient signs and symptoms and provides treatment accordingly. Communicates pertinent patient information or changes in patient condition to the team leader; #documents these results per unit's policies. Transports, weighs and assists patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and chairs. Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and responds to patient concerns in a timely manner. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions: Requires extensive safety training. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens. High noise environment. Requires protective devices. Patient care setting. Direct patient care setting. Physical Effort: Typically sitting at desk or table. Typically standing or walking. Typically bending, crouching, stooping. Occasional lifting (25 lbs or less).
