Nexamp is actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Clean Energy Deployment team. In this role you will be responsible for review of PV and ESS projects design by providing technical expertise in the interconnection, construction, and assisting in the commissioning of distributed energy resources (DERs). This role requires an electrical engineer with experience in electrical infrastructure up to 345kV, including in-depth knowledge and expertise protective relaying and controls, and a strong working knowledge in applicable national codes including NEC and NESC. In addition, you will work closely with the Grid Integration and Design Engineering teams. This position will be hybrid out of either our Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, or Wasington D.C. and reports to the Director, Electrical Engineering. __ What you’ll do: Specify and review equipment shop drawings for switchgear, transformers, reclosers and other major electrical equipment. Perform advanced electrical modeling in ETAP and AmpCalc to coordinate system protection, determine fault-duty ratings, and calculate arc-flash hazards Manage scope of work for 3rd party electrical engineers including but not limited to studies; protection coordination, power flow, Arc Flash, Step/touch Grounding Analysis, PSCAD and PSSE Modeling, Substation Design Support the Grid Integration and Design Engineering team: Review, analyze, and interpret utility pre-screen reports, System Impact Studies, Interconnection Service Agreements, and utility negotiations Witness test procedure review, code interpretation, protective settings development Implementation of non-wires alternatives, selective curtailment, and other grid-edge technologies Train and mentor junior engineering personnel Complete Project design reviews; review of single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and site layout designs for compliance with code, best practices, and utility requirements Respond to RFIs on active construction projects as required Provide technical support to Nexamp commissioning: Review medium-voltage equipment tests and factory tests Develop, with assistance, mitigation plans for non-performance to establish safe operation Review RDB files and relay test reports Certify mechanical completion on construction complete projects Provide technical support to Nexamp development, EPC, and O&M departments for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases Manage new product research and implementation initiatives Participate in process improvement activities and the generation and maintenance of #Standard #Operating #Procedures (SOPs) and Best Practices Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct Other duties as assigned
