The Production Services Automation Center of Competence is part of the wider IT Services team whose aim is to help drive performance and scale up the use of Automation in both the Infrastructure and Application arenas. With your help, we will enrich the customer experience and reduce operating costs through the use of state-of-the-art automation technologies including Service Orchestration, Workload Automation, PowerShell / Python scripting, etc. Our mission is to redesign and automate repetitive manual processes in complex process chains. The Automation Center of Competence consists of Automation Process Analysts, Automation Designers and Platform Engineers and Service Management experts who collaborate with colleagues across Production Services. Your tasks. As an Automation Designer / Developer you will be involved in complex automation projects, working closely with process experts and automation process analysts to develop a process design that can be automated and carry out its technical implementation with the aid of tools for Service Orchestration & Workload Automation with focus on BetaSystems ANOW and underlying technologies (e.g. Ansible, Ghost, etc.) In the process, your creativity, meticulous approach, and teamwork will enable you to overcome challenges in the automation of complex processes and, at the same time, to take account of best practices. With PowerShell experience, strong programming skills and your solid communication & consulting skills you greatly contribute to our practice and people development activities. Independently take on the technical implementation of process automations with Automic and the use of other digitization tools Advise automation process analysts in finalizing the digital process design Implement and test process automations according to our development standards and best practices Create technical documentation Support coordination and coaching of (junior) automation designers Plan development tasks in collaboration with the project team according to agile methodology (definition of user stories / tasks / sprint plan) Close collaboration and interaction along the implementation with process analysts and business experts Prepare and conduct handover sessions to enable use case owners from the business to take over maintenance and continuous improvement Properly document handover Perform code reviews As per four-eyes principle conduct code reviews of your colleagues’ implementations Deliver status reports in project or team meetings Facilitate knowledge sharing within CoC & digitization community Share experience and document lessons learned Conduct Automation Academy onsite trainings Help further improving our methodology and align on best practices Support special CoC-relevant projects (i.e. technology exploration) Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for: Degree in business informatics, applied informatics, or business management with a focus on accounting/controlling At least three years of relevant Automation experience (PowerShell scripting, ANOW or Automic, Ansible, Altiris/Ghost, Windows) Profound programming skills in any of the following: SQL, VBA, and/or Javascript Very good knowledge of written and spoken English Personal qualifications A very high level of enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure. Willingness to take responsibility, target- and result-oriented approach to action. Willingness to collaborate with an international team. Analytical skills and capacity for conceptual thinking, and the ability to think and act with a cross-organizational and cross-process approach.
