To learn more about career opportunities at DHL, please visit: https://www.logistics.dhl/us-en/home/careers.html We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Supervisor to lead a team of Dispatch Agents responsible for performance across P&D, drayage, and line-haul operations. This role is based at our Chicago, IL facility. Key Responsibilities Organize, prioritize, and allocate day-to-day operational activities. Coach and mentor team members and implement corrective actions when needed. Ensure comprehensive training for new employees and assign qualified personnel to support ongoing training. Maintain and update the dispatch office policy and SOP manuals. Ensure pickup and delivery requests are dispatched promptly and professionally to drivers and vendors. Ensure accurate and timely entry of PODs and all related pickup/delivery timestamps. Manage driver communications, route-related issues, and call volume; escalate or adjust operational plans as appropriate. Continuously monitor vendor performance and develop improvement plans when necessary. Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings. Proactively manage and align with customer expectations. Uphold and promote our Safety First culture at all times. Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2–3 years of transportation experience in dispatch and/or operations supervision. Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations . Strong negotiation, administrative, and organizational skills. Results-driven with excellent attention to detail. Experience working in a Collective Bargaining Unit environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Pay Range: $68,722.50 - $91,630.00+ (Based on Experience) Benefits (All Non-Union Employees) Compensation: Competitive base salary plus role dependent performance-based incentives. 401(k) Match: $1-for-$1 match up to 4% quarterly + 2% annual base contribution.
