Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBThe Norwegian Linguist performs quality control tasks, on-demand translation tasks on assigned accounts/projects; coordinates the activities of a group of translators (internal and/or freelancers) and ensures that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality level; ensures that the Language Process is being followed by the project team.Please note that in order to do this job is important to be located in one of the following countries: Spain, Italy, Romania, Greece, Germany.\nMAIN RESPONSABILITIESPerforming copy-edit tasks on assigned projects or accountsPerforming on-demand translation tasksPerforming lead support on assigned projects or accountsManaging and maintaining the language materials (including glossaries, Style Guides, work instruction) up to the quality standards and up to date as required by the account or projectManaging project-related queriesEnsuring good interaction among team members and resolving questions on terminology and language mattersTesting and qualifying new freelancers and vendors as requiredDeveloping and training of internal linguists and external partners according to the accounts’ and Welocalize’s needsInteracting with clients on linguistic matters as requiredParticipating in the development of new and improved working processesMeet or exceed the KPIs in terms of productivity, on time delivery, qualityAchieving the goals set by the team managerREQUIREMENTSEducationUniversity degree in Translation/Applied Languages and related experience as translator and/or reviewer of 4+ years or equivalent work experience.ExperienceNative-level fluency in the Norwegian languageFluency in English, both written and spoken4+ years of experience in translation/localization/editing or content writing2+ years of review experienceExperienced as a translator in : Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, WebsitesExcellent knowledge of terminology in the following subject matters: IT consumer products, social media, entertainment.Thorough understanding of the localization process.Good user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications.Good user experience of standard CAT tools, e.g., XTM, SDL Studio, and issue tracking and query management tools, e.g. JIRAAbility to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Excellent knowledge of terminology used in two or more subject matters.Ability to work with tight deadlines.Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguistsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
