Radical AI's approach speeds up R&D and addresses global challenges, setting new benchmarks in technology and sustainability.The opportunityAs a Technical Program Manager for the autonomous materials lab, you will own the execution and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary systems that combine robotics, laboratory instrumentation, software, data infrastructure, and materials science workflows. Your experience and vision will shape both the physical and systematic implementation of lab automation.  You will work closely with Mechatronics, Roboticists, Mechanical Engineering and Material Scientists to to meet rigorous and sometimes dynamic design requirements at a profound deployment speed.\nMissionOwn end-to-end program execution for the autonomous lab, from concept through deployment and iterationDefine and manage technical roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and risks across hardware, software, and scientific workflowsCoordinate cross-functional teams including robotics, controls, perception, software, data science, and materials researchersDrive system-level integration of robots, AMRs, vision systems, lab instruments, and orchestration softwareTranslate scientific objectives into clear technical requirements, success metrics, and validation plansEstablish and maintain program tracking (schedules, KPIs, risk registers, change management)Identify integration, reliability, and scaling risks early and lead mitigation effortsFacilitate technical design reviews, readiness reviews, and post-deployment retrospectivesEnsure alignment between experimental throughput goals, automation capabilities, and operational constraintsCommunicate program status, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to engineering leadership and stakeholdersBring an attitude of collaboration and openmindedness, to facilitate fearless and creative problem solving that empowers our team to ship world class technology at an unprecedented speed.About youBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical field5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or technical product managementProven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary technical programs involving hardware and softwareStrong understanding of robotics, automation systems, and/or laboratory instrumentationExperience working with engineering teams on system integration, validation, and deploymentAbility to decompose ambiguous problems into executable plans with clear ownership and timelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiencesComfortable operating in fast-paced, R&D-driven environments with evolving requirementsStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and scientific disciplines.PlusesFamiliarity with materials science, chemistry labs, or high-throughput experimentationExperience with autonomous systems, robotics workcells, AMRs, or industrial automationExperience managing programs involving vision systems, sensing, or closed-loop experimentationBackground in agile development, hardware-software co-design, or systems engineering methodologiesExperience scaling prototypes into production or semi-production research environmentsPrior startup experience or ownership of systems from early prototype through productionWhat we offerA competitive compensation package also includes the best in benefits.Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your familyMental health and wellness support14+ company holidays per year401KWork closely with a team on the cutting edge of AI research.A mission: an opportunity to fundamentally change the way humanity makes progress through materials science discovery.\nSalary DescriptionCompetitive salary + Equity + Benefits; base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.DisclosureRadical AI is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, disability, or veteran status.
