ABOUT YOUWe’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer with a strong infrastructure mindset to join our Technology team. This role sits at the intersection of backend development and platform engineering, with Kubernetes as a first-class concern, not just a deployment target.Our platform dynamically scales hundreds of servers daily, orchestrating isolated runtime environments inside Kubernetes pods. Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates as the merchant of record and has helped over 1,500+ game developers to reach more players and grow their businesses around the world.For more information, visit xsolla.com.\nResponsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScriptArchitect and evolve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) that drives dynamic Kubernetes scaling and orchestrationBuild and maintain Docker-based deployment pipelines and runtime imagesDesign and optimize deployment and scaling strategies across many services and environmentsCollaborate closely with engineering and DevOps to ensure systems are resilient, observable, and secureMonitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiencyDocument infrastructure patterns, operational workflows, and best practicesStay current with emerging tools and approaches in cloud infrastructure and backend systemsQualifications & SkillsDeep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including: Autoscaling and capacity management, Cluster-level behavior and lifecycle concerns, and Production debugging and incident responseStrong experience building and running Dockerized workloadsProficiency in Node.js and TypeScript for backend servicesPractical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)Experience designing and operating scalable backend systems in production\n$130,000 - $160,000 a year\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement:Xsolla is an equal opportunity employer.
