ABOUT YOUWe are seeking a highly analytical and hands-on Senior FinOps Engineer to lead and mature our cloud and infrastructure financial management capabilities across GCP, AWS, and on-prem environments. With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game.For more information, visit xsolla.com.\nResponsibilities:Lead the cloud cost optimization strategy across GCP, AWS, and on-prem infrastructure, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and financial predictabilityAnalyze compute, storage, networking, and Kubernetes resource usage to identify actionable cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or reliabilityBuild and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and automated reporting that provide real-time visibility into cost drivers and trends across teams and servicesDevelop and implement tagging/labeling standards, budgeting processes, and governance policies to enable cross-organizational accountabilityCollaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, and Product to guide workload placement, architecture decisions, and scaling strategiesDrive adoption of FinOps best practices including rightsizing, reservation planning, autoscaling optimizations, multi-cloud efficiency, and cost-effective storage strategiesCreate and refine internal tooling, automation, and pipelines for cost monitoring, anomaly detection, and usage attribution across Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines and physical servers, located both in datacenters and cloud providersAdvocate for a cost-aware culture by training engineering teams, running FinOps reviews, and communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersStay up to date with the latest cloud pricing models, vendor offerings, and industry trends to continuously evolve Xsolla’s FinOps maturityQualifications:5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles with a strong focus on cost optimizationHands-on experience with GCP (priority) and AWS; strong understanding of cloud pricing models, resource types, and cost management toolingDeep knowledge of Kubernetes resource allocation, autoscaling, workload placement, and cost attribution in distributed environmentsProficiency with cloud cost tools (GCP Billing exports, BigQuery, AWS CUR, 3rd party cost monitoring tools (Kubecost, CloudHealth), cost monitoring features in observability tools, custom dashboards, etc.)Strong analytical and data-engineering skills, able to build dashboards, SQL-based pipelines, and forecasting modelsExperience driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing engineering, product, and finance stakeholdersExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-focused recommendationsFluent in English (written and verbal)Nice To Have:GCP and/or AWS cloud certifications (on Professional level, preferable)Understanding of FinOps Framework practices or FinOps Certified Practitioner certificationPrior experience in gaming, high-growth tech, SaaS, or multi-cloud platform environmentsFamiliarity with chargeback/showback models, internal cost allocation systems, or multi-tenant architectureExperience with Terraform, Helm, or GitOps workflows in cost-related automationBackground in data analytics, cloud architecture, or financial modelingThe duties and responsibilities of this position may evolve over time to support the organization’s goals and individual growth\n$115,000 - $140,000 a year*Salary for this role is based on experience\nNoteThis job description is intended to outline the general nature and level of work being performed and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:Xsolla is an equal opportunity employer.
