We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Hyderabad team. In this role, you’ll lead and grow a world-class team of engineers, taking ownership of technical execution and driving impact through complex, ambiguous problems. Get to know our Engineering team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll be joining the Engineering leadership team in Hyderabad. As Deliveroo scales rapidly, you will be responsible for managing both local and remote engineers, ensuring we build resilient systems while fostering a high-performance culture. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of Backend, iOS, Android, and/or Web Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high standards. Drive technical strategy and execution for your team, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with global business goals. Contribute to product strategy by collaborating with product managers and designers to set clear goals and navigate technical trade-offs. Champion operational excellence by building dashboards (DataDog, Snowflake, Looker) and participating in code reviews to maintain high quality. Scale the organisation by hiring and developing a diverse group of engineers, helping to implement processes that allow us to move fast at scale. Bridge global collaboration , working across time zones with teams in the UK and Europe as part of our integrated global structure. What You’ll Need to Thrive Significant experience in people management , with at least 2 years specifically as an Engineering Manager leading high-performing software teams. A strong technical foundation as a former Software Engineer, with a proven ability to build user-focused products at pace. Demonstrated ownership of the full talent lifecycle, including hiring, performance reviews, goal setting, and career development for engineers. Proven ability to guide technical strategy and architectural decisions without needing to be the sole hands-on contributor. Exceptional communication skills , with experience collaborating across product, design, and operations to deliver complex international projects. A "builder" mindset , comfortable navigating ambiguity and improving the processes and values that help a tech team scale. Why Join Us?
