They pride themselves on fast turnaround times, dependable equipment performance, and strong customer service.The Small Engine Technician plays a critical role in maintaining that reputation by ensuring all STIHL products, rental equipment, and customer-owned small engine equipment are properly diagnosed, repaired, and maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability. \nResponsibilities:Diagnostics & Repair --Diagnose and repair two-cycle and small engine equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, cut-off saws, generators, plate compactors, and other rental power equipment-Perform carburetor rebuilds, fuel system repairs, ignition repairs, clutch replacements, and compression diagnostics-Accurately estimate repair time and required parts-Complete repairs within established turnaround standardsPreventative Maintenance --Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on rental fleet equipment-Conduct pre-rental inspections and post-rental damage assessments-Ensure equipment meets manufacturer safety and performance standards-Maintain detailed maintenance logs and service recordsParts & Inventory Coordination -Identify and communicate parts needs to managementAssist with managing commonly used parts inventoryComplete warranty documentation accuratelyMaintain an organized service bench and work areaCustomer Interaction - -Clearly communicate repair findings and cost estimates-Provide professional recommendations on equipment and service-Support product sales through technical knowledge when neededQualifications:2+ years of small engine repair experience preferredStrong understanding of 2-cycle and 4-cycle enginesExperience working with carburetors, ignition systems, and fuel systemsAbility to read service manuals and schematicsBasic computer skills for service documentationValid driver’s license(Preferred) STIHL certification or willingness to obtain certification(Preferred) Experience working in a rental equipment environment(Preferred) Familiarity with warranty claim submission\n$22 - $33 an hour\n
