GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.An industrial real estate development and acquisition firm is seeking a Controller to lead their accounting operations. The Controller will report to the CFO and will oversee a 5+ person accounting team managing full-cycle accounting for a multi-entity, multi-state portfolio.\nResponsibilities:Lead all accounting operations including month-end close, financial reporting, consolidations, and internal controlsOversee GAAP compliance including revenue recognition and lease accounting standardsDirect annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, and tax advisorsManage quarterly consolidation reporting to parent company and recurring cash reporting requirementsSupervise and develop the accounting teamReview trial balances, income statements, budget variances, AP/AR, and bank reconciliationsOversee development and construction accounting including loan draws and cost projectionsMonitor deferred rent schedules, depreciation/amortization, aged receivables, and JV reporting packagesManage multiple bank accounts, cash balances, equity requests, and integrated payables processesOversee entity setup/dissolution and acquisition/disposition prorationsOwn and optimize Yardi Qualifications:Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred10+ years progressive accounting experience with required real estate backgroundStrong GAAP knowledge and internal controls experiencePrior team leadership experienceYardi experience highly preferredAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsCulture & Work Environment:Hybrid work schedule Free parking in building + on-site gym accessCollaborative, team-oriented culture with regular team events and approachable leadership\n$160,000 - $170,000 a yearComprehensive benefits package includes 401(k), medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, life and AD&D, short- and long-term disability, and supplemental coverage options\n#GHJSS #LI-AS1
