This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing job cost accounting, financial reporting, WIP management, and partnering with operations to drive project profitability.This position is ideal for a hands-on construction accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building processes, managing teams, and supporting executive decision-making.\nKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & CloseOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparationManage the general ledger and ensure timely and accurate month-end closeDevelop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projectionsProvide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadershipJob Costing & WIPLead job cost accounting and cost tracking across multiple projectsPrepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedulesEnsure accurate percentage-of-completion revenue recognitionAnalyze project performance and identify cost variancesPartner with project managers on forecasting and margin improvementCompliance & ControlsMaintain strong internal controls and accounting proceduresEnsure GAAP compliance and alignment with construction accounting standardsCoordinate with external auditors, CPA firms, and tax advisorsOversee AP, AR, payroll, and lien waiver processesManage bonding, insurance reporting, and surety relationshipsLeadership & SystemsSupervise and mentor accounting staffEvaluate and optimize accounting/ERP systems and reporting toolsImplement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracyQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–10+ years of accounting experience, including construction industry experienceStrong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and POC revenue recognitionExperience with construction ERP systems (Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, or similar)Advanced Excel skillsCPA or CMA preferredStrong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities\n#GHJSS #LI-SV1
