Your missionWe’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join as our first hire and work hand-in-hand with Alexandre - Co-founder & CTO.You’ll help build the core product from the ground up: production AI systems, backend architecture, and user-facing features used daily by law firms and insurers.This is not a research role. It’s about turning cutting-edge AI into reliable, real-world software in a complex, high-stakes domain. You’ll shape product decisions and own systems end-to-end, from early prototypes to production.You’ll have a major impact on what we build, how we build it, and how engineering evolves at DamageX.ResponsibilitiesProduct & Engineering•Design, build and ship core features across platform, AI pipelines and integrations•Own technical architecture choices with scalability, security, and compliance in mind•Work closely with the founding team and studio partners from ideation to production•Take part in every high-impact technical decision that will shape the productAI & Production Systems•Build and evolve production AI pipelines (LLMs, RAG, agent-based systems) for real legal workflows•Ensure reliability, traceability, and explainability of AI outputs•Continuously optimize performance, cost, and quality as the platform scalesOwnership, Quality & Scalability•Own systems from build to production, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and scalability•Support live deployments with law firms and insurance companies•Help define how engineering is done at DamageX (processes, standards, tooling)????
