All three offices are accessible by public transportation and in close proximity to great restaurants and shopping.Join us in the office for catered lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays or grab a beverage from the fridge for an impromptu after-work happy hour!The Role: Morning Consult is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Revenue and Accounts Receivable Accountant with 2-3 years of experience in customer contract review, revenue recognition and billing. This role is an integral part of the revenue accounting team, responsible for the full order-to-cash cycle, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, compliance with ASC 606 and maintaining healthy customer accounts.Reporting to the Senior Revenue Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in reviewing client contracts, setting up revenue schedules in NetSuite, managing collections and supporting audit and monthly close processes. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.The Accounting Team at Morning Consult:The Accounting team at Morning Consult oversees a wide range of financial operations, from daily transactions to the preparation of annual US GAAP financial statements. Key responsibilities include cash and treasury management, contract review and revenue recognition, payroll and equity accounting, asset management, monthly financial reporting, expense processing, procurement and accounts payable, tax compliance and support for external audits. Our mission is to ensure all financial transactions are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with applicable standards, providing stakeholders with the reliable information they need to make informed decisions.We are a collaborative team composed of professionals from diverse personal and career backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to efficiency, high performance and continuous professional growth.\nWhat You’ll Be Working On:Review and interpret customer contracts and purchase orders to determine billing terms and revenue recognition schedulesSet up sales orders and billing schedules in NetSuite in compliance with ASC 606 and company policiesGenerate accurate and timely invoices and distribute them via email or online portalsPartner with internal teams, including Commercial and Legal, to resolve discrepancies in billing and contract dataMonitor the Accounts Receivable inbox, respond to inquiries and ensure customer accounts are accurately maintainedPerform collections activities on delinquent accounts, including outreach via email and phoneAssist in the month-end close process, including reconciliations and journal entries related to revenue and ARSupport the annual external audit by preparing and organizing supporting documentationContribute to process improvement initiatives within the revenue and AR functionsAbout You and What You’ve Done:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field2-3 years of experience in revenue accounting and/or accounts receivableCPA preferred, but not requiredStrong understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAPHands-on experience with NetSuite is required; Salesforce experience is a plusProficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validations, etc.)Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skillsClear and professional written and verbal communicationComfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple prioritiesCollaborative, self-motivated, and eager to grow within the accounting functionWilling to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvementNote: We view the above section as a guide, not a checklist.
