Sanitation Associates will have a focus area of either the Kitchen department, Plate and Pack room, Compactor room or Warehouse/general areas of the building; may also help or provide backup for any of these areas. Associates must become familiar with and follow internal Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and ensure FDA and USDA guidelines regarding allergens and food contact surfaces are maintained. The hours are 1:00pm-9:30pm, Monday-Friday. The starting rate is $17.25/hr.\nPosition Responsibilities may include, but not limited toContinually squeegee and clean debris off floors and give prompt attention to cleaning spillsBreak down boxes/containers and collect/remove cardboardRegularly empty trash cans and transport waste to trash compactor and receptaclesTake initiative to assist with general cleaning tasks in the work area, remove clutter and garbage from areas as needed; must be careful not to touch food contact surfaces when doing various sanitation tasksMonitor rooms for condensation and wipe down doors, walls, ceiling, etc. as neededRegularly remove expired food from the Ready To Eat area and help treat and trash unusable food products as assignedProperly use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicalsTransfer dirty items (pans, totes, scoops, carts) to Dishroom for cleaning Help with general housekeeping and organizationFollow and encourage others to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)May help clean and maintain bathrooms, hand wash stations, break room, or other general office areasMay help clean around exterior of the building as needed May help in other areas of the plant as needed (e.g., plating, dishroom, etc.) Help clean and ensure all machines and food surfaces meet FDA, USDA, and internal sanitation standardsRequired Skills and ExperienceHigh school diploma, GED or equivalentStrong observation and initiative skillsGood communication skillsAttention to detail as sanitation programs are key to preventing listeria, E.coli, and other potential bacteria problemsAbility to conduct work tasks without disturbing assembly line or other workersWillingness to cross-train and help in other areas as neededAbility to properly use floor squeegeesand other cleaning tools and equipment; ability to use cleaning chemicalsPreferred Skills and ExperienceSome previous work-related experiencePhysical RequirementsRegularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and armsFrequently required to stand, communicate, and listen.
