The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor assists in overseeing Quality and Food Safety Programs (HACCP-Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Vegetables; Labeling; GMPs; Internal Auditing, etc.), including implementation, staff training and documentation. The general hours are 6am-5pm, Monday-Thursday.\nPosition Responsibilities may include, but not limited toAssist in overseeing Quality and Food Safety Programs (HACCP-Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Vegetables; Labeling; GMPs; Internal Auditing, etc.), including implementation, staff training and documentationWork with USDA/FSIS Consumer Safety Inspectors, FDA and State Regulatory Inspectors; Assist in the obtaining environmental and product testing samples as neededMonitor sanitation activities and participate in pre-op inspectionsAssist with internal audit program for quality and food safety plansConduct daily sensory evaluation of foods being produced and packagedUse all required safety equipment and consistently follow all food-related sanitation and operating safety guidelines; ensure food production staff does the sameSupervise Quality Assurance Technicians (4-5); perform supervisor duties including attendance verificationTake the initiative to see and assign general cleaning tasks in work areasProvide communication between Quality Assurance Team and the Management TeamPerform any and all Quality Assurance Tech responsibilitiesRequired Skills and ExperienceAssociates Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science or related fieldCertified in HACCP for meat, poultry and seafoodPrevious experience in an USDA/FSIS inspected food manufacturing facility with food safety and quality assurancePrevious supervisory experienceMust be able to read/write/speak in EnglishStrong computer (MS Office), math, and measurement conversion skillsOrganized and detail-oriented with problem-solving skills Must be able to discern colorsAbility to obtain all required certifications and renew as necessaryAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlinesAbility to learn/adapt to changing requirements/situationsPreferred Skills and ExperienceBilingual in Spanish(PCQI) Certificate in Preventive Controls for Human FoodsServSafe CertificationPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and armsFrequently required to stand, communicate, and listenOccasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouchOccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusAble to perform repetitive movementsAble to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)\nCompany OverviewMom’s Meals is a home-delivered meal service providing fully prepared, refrigerated meal solutions direct to homes nationwide for over 25 years.
