Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. Key Responsibilities: Planning & Execution of Quality Inspections: In collaboration with the MAIT and Product Assurance team, define and execute inspection control activities at: Incoming Key stages of manufacturing, assembly, integration & testing. Before release to customers or next integration phase. Nonconformance Management Support the detection, documentation and containment of nonconformances. Assist in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and follow up on rework or repair implementation and verification. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions in coordination with engineering and MAIT. Quality Assurance support in Operations: Provide day-to-day quality support to MAIT. Review and approve MAIT procedures. Monitor and enforce compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, space and aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100). Qualification of Special processes based in EN9100 (e.g: welding, Non-Destructive Testing, etc). Desirable experience with welding. Train MAIT staff on quality procedures and best practices. Calibration coordination. Continuous Improvement: Lead quality improvement projects to enhance process stability and product quality. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve product quality. Analyze quality data and generate reports to track trends and identify areas for improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality assurance role, preferably in aerospace, space, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments. Knowledge of quality standards (e.g., EN/AS9100, ISO 9001). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques (visual, dimensional, electrical), and GD&T. Experience with nonconformance management systems and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa). Proficiency in quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, and statistical analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and desirable experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools. Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment. Why you should join us!
