This role will collaborate heavily in designing, testing, and validating new systems.\nWhat you'll do:Generate simple, clever, designs for complicated, challenging mechanical problemsQuickly analyze (hand calcs, free body diagrams, FEA, motion analysis) proposed design solutionsExecute test campaigns to validate and deliver new machine systemsSupport multiple systems in a high-pressure, heavily interfaced programMaintain high speed and output over the duration of the contractContribute to maintaining organization and clarity of project documentation among a small teamMaintain a high daily/weekly level of communication and tight collaboration on related designsWhat we’re looking for:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or another relevant field2+ years of experience or related lab/field research designing structural and mechanism components in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated experience delivering high output on month timescales, on challenging assignmentsStrong fundamental knowledge of mechanical disciplines such as static structures, dynamics/vibration, or heat transferRelevant hands-on experience building and troubleshooting mechanical systems and machinesBe self-motivated, committed to self-growth, and exhibit excellent problem-solving skillsStrong organization, communication, and presentation skillsMust-have requirements: Perform activities such as typing or sitting for extended periods of timeWillingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionallyWork in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics\n$50 - $62 an hourThis is a contract position.\n#LI-OnsiteAt CFS, we excel in fast-paced environments, driven by our values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
