IT Pre-Sales Team Leader Focus Group | Remote (UK) | Up to £57,500 Basic (>£70,000 OTE) About the Role We're seeking an exceptional IT Pre-Sales Team Leader to join our ambitious journey towards becoming a centre of excellence in the MSP sector. This is a player-manager role that combines hands-on technical pre-sales delivery with team leadership, perfect for someone ready to take the next step in their career while remaining close to the solutions they love designing. Working remotely from anywhere in the UK with occasional travel to our offices or client sites, you'll support our high-performing Pre-Sales function, directly assisting the Head of IT Pre-Sales in accelerating deal progression, increasing win rates, and ensuring seamless collaboration across Sales, Product, and Delivery teams. This role is ideal for a technical expert with emerging leadership capability who thrives on both winning complex deals and developing talented teams. What You'll Do Team Leadership (Player-Manager) Onboard, mentor, and develop Pre-Sales team members through active coaching and performance monitoring Identify skill gaps and recommend targeted training to build capability Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning Support KPI monitoring including win rates, deal velocity, proposal quality, and margin protection Demonstrate exemplary behaviours and uphold established technical standards Technical Pre-Sales Delivery Lead customer discovery meetings to uncover technical and business requirements Design and document compelling technical solutions including network diagrams, configurations, and architecture overviews Lead or co-lead RFP responses with technically robust and commercially competitive proposals Provide quality assurance on proposals, commercial documentation, and technical designs Support strategic bid/no-bid decision-making Process & Excellence Develop playbooks, templates, and best practice repositories to standardise approaches Work with Product and Technical teams to create discovery, scoping, and solution design templates Ensure smooth sale-to-delivery transitions through clear documentation and handovers Conduct win/loss analysis to continuously improve positioning and delivery Mentor the team on proposal writing, solution design, and customer engagement techniques Provide product feedback to influence roadmap and new offerings Solution Integrity Ensure all solutions are technically viable, properly scoped, and commercially sound Build customer trust through a consultative, customer-centric approach Validate that solutions align to business outcomes and deliver measurable value What We're Looking For Essential Experience & Skills Extensive technical expertise in solution design and delivery, particularly Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure solutions Deep understanding of managed IT and cybersecurity service delivery models for SME and mid-market customers Significant pre-sales experience winning complex deals and designing solutions aligned to business outcomes Strong commercial acumen including MSP pricing models, margin management, and deal structuring Proven track record producing compelling proposals, business cases, and competitive RFP responses Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts Consultative, customer-centric approach with proven ability to build trust with stakeholders Demonstrated people leadership capability with ability to mentor, develop, and motivate team members Approachable style that supports less experienced colleagues in developing their capabilities Desirable Previous experience in a Pre-Sales Team Lead or Senior Pre-Sales Consultant role Experience working within a high-growth IT Managed Services Provider Industry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, security frameworks) What's in It for You Competitive package: up to £57,500 basic salary with >£70,000 OTE Remote working from anywhere in the UK Player-manager role combining technical delivery with leadership development Opportunity to shape Pre-Sales function and establish best practices Work with cutting-edge technologies across cloud, security, and infrastructure Be part of a high-growth, Hg Capital-backed organisation Career progression in a scaling business Collaborative culture focused on continuous learning and development Why This Role Matters This is a pivotal position in our growth story.
