Domes of Elounda We are currently hiring for our 5* resort Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection Hotels , an ultimate luxury experience, located in Crete .   Sommelier The Role: The Sommelier at Domes Resorts should be a trained and knowledgeable wine professional specializing in all aspects of wine service, wine and food pairing, and wine selection. With previous experience in fine dining restaurants, hotels, or resorts, the sommelier curates an exceptional beverage experience for Domes’ guests. Some of the responsibilities: Customer Interaction and Education ·        Recommend food and wine pairings. ·        Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices. ·        Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices. ·        Answers guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines. Operational Services ·        Update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the Food and Beverage Manager. ·        Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware. ·        Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste. ·        Manage the wine cellar and ensure its fully stocked. ·        Updates and maintains wine list and MICROS system. ·        Issues, opens, and serves wine/champagne bottles. Health, Safety & Legal Compliance ·        Ensure that all wine services comply with local laws and regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol. ·        Ensure that wines are stored properly in accordance with health and safety regulations, including keeping wine at the correct temperature and avoiding any exposure to elements that may affect quality. Useful to have: ·        A degree in Hospitality/Tourism will be considered an asset. ·        Certification as a sommelier is beneficial (WSET or equivalent). ·        Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sommelier in a luxury hospitality environment. ·        Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. ·        Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries. ·        Knowledge of the English language. What you will bring: ·        Excellent communication skills with a strong customer-focused approach. ·        Ability to build relationships, internally and externally, within their department and between the department and the hotel. ·        Hands-on approach, positive attitude, and flexibility. ·        Upselling / persuasive abilities. ·        Cost-conscious and able to maximize revenue.
