Domes of Elounda, an Autograph Collection Resort We are currently hiring for our new 5* resort Domes of Elounda, an Autograph Collection Resort , an ultimate luxury experience, located in Crete. The Role: The Host/Hostess is serving as the first point of contact for guests when they arrive at dining outlets, restaurants, or lounges. He/She is responsible for providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements. The role also ensures smooth guest flow and effective communication between the front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Some of the responsibilities: Guest Greeting and Reception ·        Greet guests with a friendly, professional attitude as they arrive at the dining area or restaurant. Ensure they feel welcome and valued from the moment they enter. ·        Manage guest flow by seating guests according to their preferences (e.g., indoor/outdoor seating, special requests). Ensure that seating is done promptly and efficiently, minimizing waiting times. ·        Handle guest reservations, either in person, over the phone, or through an online booking system. Ensure that reservation details are accurately recorded and that guests are seated on time. Hosting Operational Tasks ·        Ensure that tables are assigned to balance guest flow and optimize restaurant efficiency. Communicate with waiters to ensure that guests are seated promptly, and that staff is prepared for incoming guests. ·        Recognize and prioritize VIP guests, ensuring that they receive special treatment, such as preferred seating, personalized service, or additional attention from management. ·        Maintain an accurate and up-to-date reservation book or digital system, ensuring that all bookings are confirmed and properly documented. Staff Coordination & Communication ·        Communicate with servers, waiters, and management to ensure a smooth flow of operations. ·        Inform the team about special requests, VIP guests, or any changes to seating arrangements. ·        Coordinate with waiters about available seating options. Useful to have: ·        High School Diploma or Vocational Training or Degree in Hospitality (preferred). ·        A minimum of 1 year of experience in a luxury hospitality environment is an asset. ·        Conversational English level and familiarity with the OPERA system. What you will bring: ·        Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. ·        Excellent organizational and time management skills to keep track of bookings, waiting lists, and table assignments. ·        Ability to build relationships, internally and externally, within their department and between their department and the rest of the hotel. ·        Proactive way of managing and organizing with an eye to detail in handling guest requests, seating arrangements, and maintaining a clean and orderly dining environment. ·        Excellent communication skills managing guest expectations, providing information about waiting times or menu details. ·        Exceptional customer service competencies to handle guest inquiries, requests, or complaints with tact and professionalism.
