SUMMARY: The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Pottsgrove School District is $19/hour The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills CURRENT NEEDS: Elementary Multiple Disabilities Classroom: 8:20am - 3:50pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break) Elementary Emotional Support Classroom: 8:20am - 3:50pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break) High School 1:1 for Autistic Support: 7am - 2:30pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance to students with special needs who have IEPs or 504 plans. Reinforcing learning concepts and skills. Working with students individually or in small groups. Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress. Managing students behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment. Supervising students during lunch, arrivals/dismissals, and other non-instructional areas. Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred CREDENTIALING : *CCRES paid clearances and TB (Clearances current within 12 months) PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance PA Department of Education FBI TB Screening - current within 3 months Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
