We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in our Virginia Beach, VA office. We currently have numerous design and inspection assignments for transportation infrastructure related projects within the region. Responsibilities Performs mechanical design & inspection for movable bridges and other heavy movable structures Prepares contract plans, special provisions, engineer's estimates, inspection reports, and technical memorandums Reviews drawings and recommends necessary changes Research design options and document findings for Project Managers Job duties will involve a mixture of office and field work BS or BE in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited Degree) Virginia PE License (preferred) or ability to obtain within two years A minimum of five years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD required, Microstation preferred) Experience with Mathcad computational software Willingness to travel for short term assignments on an as-needed basis Ability to work effectively as part of a design team Must be a highly motivated individual who is detail and goal-oriented, a self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communications
