The role: EnerMech is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Gladstone. This is a full-time position suited to a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship and thrives in a dynamic, team-focused environment. You will carry out and lead fitting, welding, assembly, and installation works both on project sites and within our workshop. This role requires a proactive approach to safety, quality, and communication while working closely with workshop and project managers, trades personnel, and QHSE representatives. Perform general fitting, machining, and fabrication work (site & workshop). Carry out on-site removal and installation of mechanical components. Execute general shutdown mechanical duties and maintenance on fixed plant equipment. Conduct flange management and mechanical assembly work. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Supervise and mentor Trade Assistants and Apprentices when required. Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality. Participate regularly in safety and toolbox meetings. Preferred Skills & Experience Swagelok and tubing experience highly regarded. 5 years experience with hydraulic and water pumps, including hose replacement and servicing. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Proven ability to maintain high standards of safety and quality. Experience in shutdowns or fixed plant maintenance advantageous. Previous supervisory experience advantageous Licences & Qualifications Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (essential) White Card (essential) Confined Space (essential) Conduct Gas Test Atmospheres (essential) Working at Heights (preferred) Pass 3 Site Medical What's on Offer Permanent Full Time Role Hourly rate based on our Queensland Enterprise Agreement - Level 5 $43.29 plus penalties Consistent over time on offer Weekly Pay x1 RDO every 4 weeks Higher rate when working on Curtis Island
