Position Overview: The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery (L&D) plays a vital role in supporting women during the labor process and childbirth. This position requires a compassionate approach and expertise in maternal and neonatal care, ensuring safe and healthy deliveries while providing emotional support to families. The L&D RN will work closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care in a fast-paced environment. Start Date: Immediate Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Contract Duration: 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,900 Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, identifying and managing complications as needed. Assist with labor management techniques and provide appropriate pain relief options for patients. Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate safe and effective birthing experiences. Educate patients and their families regarding the labor and delivery process, potential complications, and newborn care. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in medical records. Support families by providing emotional support and guidance throughout the labor and delivery process. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's degree acceptable with relevant experience. At least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery or maternal care is preferred. Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are required; NRP certification is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple patients simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients and their families. Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to women and newborns.
