This role includes researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, and purchasing materials. It also involves ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. The goal is to support the organizations operations by obtaining the best value and maintaining strong supplier relationships. A systematic approach used for buying all the goods and services needed for a particular project or for the company generally to stay sustainable. It consists of: the identification of need; finding and qualifying the suppliers; requesting proposals, negotiating with suppliers, contracting, delivery and analyzing results; and contract close.
