CLOUD ENGINEER - SYDNEY / MELBOURNE You will join an innovative and fast-paced team driven to build and expand our cloud-based data engineering and automation platform. We’re seeking someone with a passion for technology and at least 3 years of experience working with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and software development, who thrives in a collaborative team environment. What You’ll Deliver As an engineer in Automation, you will be instrumental in developing the functionality and scalability of our Central Monitoring data platform, while also contributing to innovative automation microservices in Accenture’s GenWizard platform. Your responsibilities will include: Architecting scalable serverless data solutions Refactor and modernise ETL pipelines, design cloud-native integrations, and evolve our data platform — with a focus on performance, maintainability, and cost-efficiency. Guide junior engineers in their technical development and support a culture of learning and quality. Evaluating and communicating technology trade-offs Assess the strengths and weaknesses of various tools and clearly articulate your recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Applying cloud-native best practices Promote scalable and maintainable solutions using scripting, documentation, observability, and infrastructure design — especially with AWS-native services. If it exists in AWS, you’re free to use it. What You’ll Bring You’ll have 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies. The following skills and experience will help you thrive: Programming & Software Engineering Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming. Cloud & Serverless Architecture Experience building solutions with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, Kinesis Firehose, DynamoDB, Cognito, S3, Fargate, IAM, and Managed OpenSearch. High Throughput & Scalability Designed systems supporting high data ingestion rates and scalable processing. Our platform ingests 2TB+ of data daily, with data volumes continuing to grow. DevOps & Delivery Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar), infrastructure automation, and cloud deployment best practices. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, or SAM is essential. Containers & Kubernetes (Nice to have) While primarily serverless, familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS is helpful when collaborating across teams. Communication & Collaboration Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and foster a collaborative team culture. Growth Mindset & Adaptability A self-motivated approach to learning, with interest in emerging technologies like Amazon Bedrock and other evolving AWS services.
