SUPO, where required) The Mission of The AIT Engineer Spain You turn cutting-edge satellite designs into spacecraft that perform flawlessly in orbit, shaping the success of missions that matter on a global scale. Your engineering skill becomes a force multiplier for ICEYE’s ability to deliver real-time intelligence that protects nations, communities, and critical operations. Who We Are ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy – day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits. As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring (including oil-spill detection), and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience. ICEYE operates internationally with offices in Finland, Poland, Spain, Japan, the UAE, Greece, and the US. The company has more than 900 employees, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation. What Will You Do In This Role? The Global Satellite Manufacturing Organization (GMO) owns the production and manufacturing of  all commercial Satellites across ICEYE. The team is responsible for the end-to-end process of satellite production, from procurement and assembly to testing, delivery and launch. As a Senior AIT Engineer at ICEYE’s production site in Valencia, Spain, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our spacecraft from design to reality. You’ll be a senior technical contributor within the local Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) team, responsible for the successful integration, verification, and delivery of ICEYE satellites built on-site. You will combine strong hands-on expertise with system-level understanding, ensuring that each satellite can be reliably integrated, tested, and delivered to meet mission and schedule objectives. Acting as a key bridge between Engineering, Production, and Test, you’ll diagnose complex integration issues, lead critical troubleshooting, and feed lessons learned back into continuous product and process improvements. This role sits at the intersection of technical depth and operational execution: you will not only perform and oversee integration and test activities, but also help establish best practices, documentation standards, and readiness processes as ICEYE expands its production footprint. You’ll work closely with the In-Country Satellite Production Leader, the Global AIT team, and multidisciplinary engineers across domains such as power, payload, avionics, software-hardware interface, communications, and system-level verification, ensuring each spacecraft meets ICEYE’s high reliability and performance standards. Success in this position means taking ownership, staying hands-on, and making the connection between design intent and production reality, helping ICEYE make the impossible possible from Valencia. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute satellite assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities for missions built at the Valencia site. Act as a technical point of contact for subsystem integration, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and configuration consistency across builds. Support production readiness and design reviews (e.g., PRR, CDR), ensuring designs are mature and ready for seamless transition into production. Perform and guide system-level verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and EMC test campaigns. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, coordinating with design, manufacturing, and test engineers to ensure schedule and quality adherence. Provide hands-on support on the production floor, ensuring correct assembly, harness routing, alignment, and test setup execution. Contribute to and improve AIT documentation, including test procedures, integration plans, checklists, and configuration records. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in integration methods, test efficiency, and build reliability. Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of integration or test anomalies. Interface with the Global AIT and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on product standards, process updates, and lessons learned. Mentor and support local engineers and technicians, sharing AIT best practices and fostering a culture of quality and accountability. Champion ICEYE’s commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous learning during all integration and test activities. What will you need to be successful in this role? Proven - at least 7 years - of hands-on experience in the integration, testing, or production of complex hardware systems (e.g., satellites, aerospace, defense or automotive). Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering environments, collaborating across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems domains. Deep technical expertise in at least one discipline (e.g., mechanical integration, electrical systems, or RF) with solid understanding across others. Strong system-level mindset, able to understand how subsystems interact, anticipate integration challenges, and maintain end-to-end traceability. Practical experience with design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) principles. Familiarity with test and verification processes, environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC), and configuration management. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyse root causes, and implement feedback loops to improve design and production outcomes. Clear and confident communication skills. Able to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and management stakeholders. Proactive, hands-on attitude with a passion for building reliable spacecraft hardware at scale. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative production environment, balancing precision, agility, and safety. Strong command of English (spoken and written); Spanish language skills are a plus.
