This role is for one of our clients Salary: $56-$154 per hour We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Expert to support a rapidly growing AI research and product organization focused on advancing automation, reasoning systems, and data-driven decision intelligence. This is a part-time role (10–20 hours/week) structured as an hourly contract , ideal for an experienced accounting professional who excels in fast-paced and innovation-led environments. Responsibilities Manage the full accounting cycle including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and monthly close activities. Prepare and maintain financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements to support strategic decision-making. Oversee budgeting and forecasting while conducting detailed variance and trend analysis. Handle accounts payable/receivable , vendor coordination, and expense reimbursements. Develop and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial processes tailored to a growing tech organization. Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial advisors to ensure compliance and accuracy. Drive process automation and improve system efficiencies in financial reporting and data workflows. Advise leadership on cost optimization, operational efficiency, and financial best practices. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or controllership. Professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA , or equivalent is strongly preferred. Experience working in tech, AI, or high-growth startup environments is highly desirable. Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS , reconciliations, and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite ) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills. Excellent analytical ability with the capacity to simplify complex financial insights. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Comfort working independently and collaborating across distributed remote teams.
