This role is for one of the Weekday's clients JobType: full-time In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and related frameworks. You will collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver APIs and services that are performant, secure, and easy to evolve. The position offers exposure to cloud-native architectures, modern DevOps practices, and real-world scalability challenges in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Build, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or NestJS. Design and implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications. Integrate backend systems with databases (SQL and NoSQL), third-party services, and external APIs. Write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards. Ensure application security, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards. Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability under varying traffic loads. Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams with frontend, product, and DevOps stakeholders. Implement and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues using logging and monitoring tools. What Makes You a Great Fit Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event loops, Promises, and async/await. Experience working with backend frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify. Practical knowledge of databases, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis). Familiarity with building and consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL services. Understanding of performance optimization, debugging, and backend security fundamentals. Comfort working with Git, collaborative code reviews, and Agile development practices. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a mindset focused on code quality. Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
