This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 8 years Location: Gurugram JobType: full-time We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead, scale, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. This role combines deep technical leadership with people management, ownership of system architecture, and close collaboration with product and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise across backend, frontend, and application development, along with a passion for building scalable, secure, and customer-centric products. Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile/app development Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning Support career growth through coaching, performance feedback, and skill development Product & Delivery Ownership Own end-to-end product delivery—from requirements and design to development, testing, deployment, and post-release support Partner closely with product, design, and business teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions Ensure predictable delivery while maintaining high engineering quality Technical Strategy & Architecture Define and evolve technical architecture and engineering strategy in collaboration with stakeholders Design, build, and scale distributed systems, microservices, and APIs Drive best practices around system performance, reliability, scalability, and security Engineering Excellence Establish and enforce coding standards, code reviews, and engineering best practices Oversee CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and incident response processes Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement Required Qualifications 8–11 years of overall experience in software development, including 3+ years in engineering leadership or people management roles Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (B.Tech – CS mandatory) Strong hands-on experience with backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, Go, or similar Solid experience with frontend frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js Exposure to mobile application development (Android, iOS, Flutter, or React Native) Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems and microservices Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to balance technical leadership with effective people management Good to Have Experience in fast-paced product or startup environments Exposure to analytics, A/B testing, and data-driven experimentation Knowledge of application security best practices and compliance standards Why Join Accelerated career growth with opportunities to progress into senior leadership or architectural roles Ownership-driven environment—build, run, and scale what you create Work on impactful, large-scale systems solving real-world problems Collaborative, people-first culture with accessible leadership 5-day work week supporting sustainable productivity and work–life balance Exposure to a diverse, modern technology stack across backend, systems, and frontend Core Skills Java · ReactJS · Engineering Leadership · Team Management · MySQL · NoSQL · AWS · System Design · Microservices
