This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 200000 - Rs 650000 (ie INR 2-6.5 LPA ) Min Experience: 2 years JobType: full-time This role focuses on delivering a smooth, compliant, and engaging onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring they transition seamlessly from offer acceptance to Day 1 readiness. As an Onboarding Specialist, you will act as the primary point of contact for candidates in the pre-hire stage, coordinating closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and internal teams to manage all onboarding activities efficiently. The role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and a candidate-first mindset to ensure every new joiner feels informed, supported, and confident as they begin their journey with the organization. Key Responsibilities Serve as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the pre-hire and onboarding phase, guiding them through each step Coordinate end-to-end onboarding activities, including pre-boarding, start date confirmation, first-day logistics, and orientation scheduling Manage welcome communications, including welcome emails, Day 1 instructions, and orientation details Select and initiate appropriate background verification and drug testing packages based on job role, location, and policy requirements Review background check and drug test results and provide clearance as per defined guidelines Schedule start dates and enroll new hires into the appropriate onboarding and learning events Update and maintain accurate candidate and onboarding records in HR systems, ensuring “ready for hire” status is correctly reflected Collaborate closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely execution Maintain onboarding trackers, checklists, and reports to ensure process visibility and compliance Support regional or global onboarding initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement What Makes You a Great Fit Strong coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple onboarding activities simultaneously Clear and confident communication skills to effectively support candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers High attention to detail, especially when handling background checks, documentation, and system updates Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working with HR systems and onboarding tools, with a process-driven mindset A candidate-centric approach with a passion for delivering a positive and professional onboarding experience
