This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 3000000 (ie INR 15-30 LPA) Min Experience: 5 years Location: Chennai , Coimbatore JobType: full-time We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Java to join a highly collaborative and agile engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, distributed systems, and PaaS environments, and will enjoy solving complex, large-scale technical challenges. This role is well-suited for engineers with experience in product-driven companies or fast-paced startup environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies. Build and optimize microservices and distributed systems to support high-traffic, low-latency applications. Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability through thoughtful architecture and engineering best practices. Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code; actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions. Leverage cloud and platform services to deploy, monitor, and scale applications efficiently. Stay current with emerging technologies and apply relevant innovations to enhance system design and functionality. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development with strong proficiency in Core Java concepts. Extensive experience building microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks. Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda. Proven experience designing and maintaining distributed systems in high-throughput, low-latency environments. Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to apply them to real-world engineering problems. Experience working in PaaS environments and designing solutions that effectively leverage cloud infrastructure. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment while maintaining high standards of code quality and system performance.
