This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 500000 - Rs 1200000 (ie INR 5-12 LPA) Min Experience: 3 years Location: Mumbai JobType: full-time We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive market development, scale distribution, and build a high-performance sales organization. The role focuses on expanding market presence, managing distributors, and leading sales teams to achieve aggressive growth targets. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies in target markets to establish a strong category presence. Build and maintain strategic partnerships with wholesalers, retailers, and distributors to grow product portfolio nationally. Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and budgets to ensure profitable growth. Lead distributor appointments, onboarding, performance management, SOP implementation, and margin/scheme negotiations. Collaborate with internal teams to implement agreements, boost revenue, and address customer needs. Lead, mentor, and inspire sales and promoter teams to consistently achieve and exceed targets. Set performance standards, design incentive programs, and conduct training sessions to enhance team capabilities. Align promotional campaigns with marketing teams to increase brand visibility. Plan and execute trade schemes, festival programs, and promotional calendars with key partners. Ensure timely collections and payments from retailers and distributors. Monitor schemes across distributor and retail channels. Analyze sales data, create dashboards/reports, and provide actionable insights for business improvement. Track competitor pricing, new product launches, promotional schemes, and retail behavior. Benchmark best practices and recommend improvements across distribution, merchandising, and demand planning. Required Profile 3+ years of experience in offline FMCG sales across A+ Stores, Modern Trade, and General Trade. Proven track record in distributor management, category growth, market expansion, and negotiations. Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with dashboards, targets, and forecasting tools. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Target-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Willingness to travel extensively across India. Strong networking skills and ability to collaborate effectively internally and externally.
