This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 3000000 (ie INR 15-30 LPA) Min Experience: 7 years Location: Hyderabad JobType: full-time The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance software systems with a strong focus on data platforms and backend infrastructure. This role contributes to the modernization of data-driven systems, adoption of cloud-native technologies, and continuous improvement of reliability, performance, and automation across mission-critical applications. You will work closely with software engineers, cloud architects, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions that align with both business and technical goals. The role combines hands-on engineering, architectural thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend systems supporting transactional and analytical workloads Architect and implement robust data storage and access layers using relational and NoSQL databases Build and maintain automation for provisioning, schema management, upgrades, and configuration using CI/CD pipelines Drive adoption of cloud-native services across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments Integrate database and backend services with application and infrastructure layers Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability and performance Ensure adherence to security, data governance, and backup/recovery best practices Collaborate with product, platform, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Lead debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of complex production issues Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong backend and data systems focus Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Cassandra Strong understanding of data modeling, indexing, replication, partitioning, and scalability patterns Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and managed services (AWS, Azure, GCP) Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and optimize high-performance systems Clear communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams Preferred Skills Experience with cloud-native data services (e.g., managed databases, caching solutions) Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry Prior experience in platform, infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems
