This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Location: Mumbai, BKC JobType: full-time As a Port DA Specialist in Marine Accounting, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end Port Disbursement Accounts (DAs) that support global marine operations. This role sits at the center of operational and financial coordination, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all port-related financial activities. You will work closely with internal teams and external agents to handle proforma and final DAs, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong financial controls. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while ensuring timely and accurate settlements. Key Responsibilities Manage proforma DA payments, registration of incoming final DAs, and associated invoices Review, validate, and process final DAs in line with port tariffs, Statements of Facts (SOF), Charter Parties (CPs), and agency agreements Finalize statements of accounts with port agents and ensure timely settlement of dues Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, procedures, and correct accounting practices Perform accurate account coding and processing within marine accounting systems such as Veson and HarborLab Coordinate closely with Operations, Port Operations, Finance, and external agents or suppliers Follow up on discrepancies, clarifications, and missing documentation to ensure closure Support or lead process improvement initiatives and special projects within the Port DA function Manage key accounts, including agents and charterers, acting as the primary point of contact Maintain clear documentation and contribute to financial transparency across departments What Makes You a Great Fit Strong understanding of port disbursement accounts and marine cost structures Solid knowledge of port tariffs, SOFs, CP terms, and marine accounting practices Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to work Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders Sound decision-making capability with a focus on accuracy and compliance Experience using marine accounting or operational systems such as Veson IMOS is an advantage Comfortable working with digital tools and productivity suites such as M365 High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
