This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 4 years Location: Bengaluru JobType: full-time The Software Development Engineer 2 (DevOps & Infrastructure) will play a key role in building, scaling, and securing cloud infrastructure for high-growth, production systems. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, reliability engineering, and scalable deployment practices to support rapid product growth and increasing traffic demands. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. Migrate manually managed infrastructure into fully automated, version-controlled environments. Scalable Architecture & Reliability Contribute to the evolution of infrastructure architectures capable of handling significant traffic growth. Implement auto-scaling, high availability, and multi-region resilience strategies. CI/CD & Deployment Automation Build, enhance, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for backend and frontend services. Implement safe deployment strategies such as canary releases and zero-downtime rollouts. Cloud Cost Optimization Monitor and optimize cloud costs by right-sizing resources, leveraging spot instances, and improving architectural efficiency. Partner with engineering teams to balance performance, reliability, and cost. Platform Lifecycle Management Ensure regular upgrades and patching of Kubernetes clusters, databases, operating systems, and supporting services. Proactively mitigate security, stability, and compatibility risks. Monitoring, Uptime & Observability Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. Support high availability through automated failover, disaster recovery planning, and incident response practices. Security & Compliance Ensure infrastructure follows best practices for security, data protection, network isolation, and compliance standards. Review and contribute to technical designs with a focus on security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Experience & Qualifications 4+ years of experience working in high-growth product environments or large-scale engineering teams. Proven experience converting manual infrastructure into IaC and managing production-grade state files. Strong hands-on expertise with AWS , Kubernetes (EKS) , and Docker for microservices-based systems. Experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for high-velocity engineering teams. Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, peering, transit gateways, and DNS (Route53) . Experience working with message queues such as SQS or RabbitMQ . Exposure to observability and logging frameworks for production systems. Nice to Have Experience managing high-concurrency data stores such as ClickHouse . Exposure to large-scale data pipelines and streaming systems. Familiarity with performance tuning and reliability engineering at scale.
