This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 800000 - Rs 1200000 (ie INR 8-12 LPA) Min Experience: 5 years Location: Mumbai JobType: full-time We are hiring a Software Engineer to build fast, reliable internal tooling that powers trading, research, and operations. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, visualization, and system observability, with a strong focus on speed, correctness, and end-to-end ownership. You will design and maintain systems that transform high-volume raw data—such as market feeds, execution logs, and operational metrics—into accurate, actionable insights used daily by traders and researchers. The tools you build will operate in the critical path of decision-making, where performance, reliability, and data integrity are non-negotiable. This is an opportunity to work in a high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environment where your systems directly influence real-time outcomes and business performance. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain internal dashboards and tools that visualize trading activity, performance metrics, system health, and anomalies in near real time. Design and implement end-to-end data and reporting pipelines that ingest logs, market data, and execution data, transforming them into validated and trusted outputs. Optimize performance-critical systems for latency, throughput, scalability, and reliability. Implement reconciliation checks, validation logic, and automated testing to ensure data accuracy, explainability, and reproducibility. Monitor, maintain, and improve production systems, including alerting, debugging, and performance tuning. Collaborate closely with traders and researchers to understand data needs and deliver tooling that improves decision-making speed and clarity. Identify system bottlenecks and proactively eliminate inefficiencies to support growing data volumes and trading activity. What Makes You a Great Fit Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience building and maintaining production-grade systems. High proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and internal tooling development. Solid experience working with SQL and structured data storage systems. Strong data intuition with a deep focus on correctness, validation, and logical reasoning. Comfortable handling large datasets, time-series data, and high-volume logs. Experience building internal platforms or operational tools rather than purely customer-facing applications. Familiarity with data visualization libraries or dashboarding systems. Ability to move quickly while maintaining high engineering standards and clean, maintainable code. Ownership mindset with strong debugging, monitoring, and system reliability skills.
