The ideal candidate will have 4–8 years of experience in business development within the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) industry, with strong exposure to international markets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive revenue growth, build global partnerships, and expand the company’s footprint across regulated and semi-regulated markets. Key Responsibilities: Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in international markets including regulated (US, EU) and semi-regulated regions. Drive end-to-end business development activities, from lead generation and client prospecting to negotiation and deal closure. Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share globally. Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas clients, distributors, and strategic partners. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure timely submissions, approvals, and product delivery. Prepare and present business proposals, pricing strategies, and commercial agreements aligned with company objectives. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new product opportunities and emerging trends in the API industry. Participate in international trade shows, exhibitions, and client meetings to promote API portfolio and strengthen brand presence. Monitor sales performance, forecast demand, and ensure alignment with production planning and supply capabilities. Ensure compliance with international regulatory requirements and maintain documentation as required for global markets. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field. MBA in International Business or Marketing is preferred. 4–8 years of proven experience in Business Development within the API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) sector. Strong understanding of international pharmaceutical markets, regulatory frameworks, and API commercialization processes. Demonstrated success in International Business Development, including managing global clients and distributors. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. In-depth knowledge of API product lifecycle, DMF filings, regulatory submissions, and tender processes. Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable business strategies. Willingness to travel internationally for client meetings and industry events.
