Headquartered in the Netherlands, with world-class R&D hubs in Lisbon, Berlin, and São Paulo, our team of close to 500 experts across 15 countries is united by a single ambition: to redefine global mobile connectivity through technology, scale, and execution excellence.  Position Overview As an Architect inside the Network Engineering department, you will act as a Solution Architect for new products, services and technologies in 1Global, acting as a point of contact towards internal and external customers. Effectively work closely with Product and Marketing, but also with all different technical stakeholders and vendors, in shaping, designing, testing, and implementing new solutions.The Architect is responsible for leading the requirements analysis process, in close contact with all relevant stakeholders, to a refined and clear scope, allowing a solution to be created, documented and planned to be implemented. Key Responsibilities Iterates with the customer (internal and external) and other stakeholders to determine the technical requirements, risks, technical impacts, and recommendations Design of new consumer and corporate telecom solutions Collaborates with technical teams in defining reliable, modular, scalable, and customer-centric solutions, as well as planning and reviewing solutions Design and present solutions in documents and workshops. For the solution identifies the impacts, efforts and the resources needed Market prospection of new solutions through elaboration and analysis of Request for Information/Proposal/Quotation processes and negotiation with potential suppliers Follow up of new technology trends in the Telecom industry and identifying interesting solutions for the product portfolio Definition and follow up of company technological evolution roadmaps Documents the existing technology portfolio and proposes recommendations for improvements and / or alternatives Ensure and control quality of documentation execution (HLD’s, LLD’s, WO’s, etc.) Ensure and control implementation quality. Understanding of End to End system testing requirements Ensure the network is compliant with industry standards and regulations Capacity and Performance Analysis, Reporting and Improvement Solution Definition Work on complex solutions that influence the design of current products and addresses design issues for future products or technologies. Enhance, simplify, and optimize existing applications and processes Evolves the engineering maturity to be on par with the non-functional and functional state-of-the-art Communicates transparently to the whole business Reaches out to other teams and works towards alignment and overall continuous improvement Must Have Excellent understanding of Mobile Networks and its architectures Experience with MVNO architecture(s) and landscape. Familiar with roaming environment, including its technical, commercial and regulatory aspects Solid knowledge of networking principles & protocols, including security Experience in network protocols like MAP, CAMEL, SIGTRAN, DIAMETER, SIP Knowledge and experience of OCS and Gy/Sy interfaces Experience with VoLTE and VoWiFi Experience with LTE, 5G, IMS, IP technologies and protocols Familiar with cloud-based solutions and virtualization technologies High Level Designs and Low Level Designs. Experience developing and presenting internal and external documents Experience with 5G Core Mobile Networks Experience with monitoring tools and protocols in Mobile Networks Anticipates problems and addresses them before they cause impact Understands how big-picture goals inform technical details and vice-versa Ability to work in complex environments (multi-cultural/multi-country/geographically distributed teams) High attention to detail. Doesn't leave things to be addressed or left undone Business oriented, capable to engage and discuss with non technical persons in order to create technical requirements Excellent communication and presentation skills English proficiency mandatory, other languages are a plus Degree in Telecom Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience Nice to Have Experience with cloud applications monitoring and analytics is a plus Experience with AI/ML cloud based service assurance is a plus Extensive working experience in telecoms, designing and implementing mobile core networks
