We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant/ Manager to join our team in Longford. If you're looking for that next step in your Accountancy career and want to manage an ambitious financial team. This could be the role for you. As the Financial accountant you will be responsible for managing a range of activities from preparation of the monthly Financial Statements of the site to supporting on a range of business projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee the month-end closing process, which includes crafting journal entries, determining accruals, and managing the General Ledger. Act as the Senior Finance representative for the site. Develop the Monthly Reporting Pack, encompassing the P&L and Balance Sheet, alongside scheduling for Fixed Assets, Capex, and Amortization. Handle the preparation of Prepayments and Accruals, as well as manage Intercompany Debtors Reconciliation and sign-off. Conduct Bank Account Reconciliations, including those for Livestock and Debtors, while preparing General Ledger reconciliations. Perform General Ledger spend analysis and serve as the primary contact for external financial and tax auditors. Prepare VAT, VIES, and Intrastat Returns. Assist in divisional analysis of Variable and Fixed costs, and support the budgeting process. Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant with minumum 4+ years post qualification experience ideally within a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of monthly reconciliations and identifying opportunities for development within existing control procedures High awareness of current technical accounting and reporting requirements Strong technical ability with financial analysis and reporting skills Computer literate with good Excel skills with solid understanding of accounting software principles
