A. Coordination, Administration & Financial Oversight Provide overall coordination of the IITA component of the SMART Project as indicated in Mercy Corps Contract no. NYL-0520 Ensure administrative and financial management of activities in accordance with IITA and donor guidelines. Prepare work plans, budgets, procurement needs, and implementation schedules.   B. Value Chain Assessment & Evidence Generation Support the design and conduct a rapid value chain assessment through surveys and key informant interviews with farmers, traders, processors, and stakeholders. Coordinate sample collection with the project lead, IITA staff, Mercy Corps teams, and field partners. Analyse aflatoxin testing results produced during field activities. Develop a geospatial map of aflatoxin contamination in South and Central Darfur using GIS/digital tools. Prepare a technical brief summarizing methodology, findings, and limitations of the contamination mapping.   C. Stakeholder Engagement & Platform Strengthening Identify, convene, and engage key value chain actors including producers, traders, processors, extension agents, authorities, NGOs, and private sector companies. Support the establishment and facilitation of a value chain stakeholder platform. Contribute to defining platform objectives, roles, and action plans promoting improved aflatoxin mitigation practices.   D. Risk Assessment & Sustainability Planning Conduct a project risk assessment covering operational, security, adoption, and market risks. Develop mitigation strategies for identified risks. Guide the handover process of aflatoxin testing kits to appropriate institutions with sustained capacity for ongoing testing.   E. Capacity Building, Training & Awareness Support the design and delivery of: At least one sensitization workshop per year for value chain actors. Minimum of 16 aflatoxin training sessions in Year 1, targeting 640 farmers and households. Ensure training materials are context-appropriate and conflict-sensitive. Prepare detailed training reports with participant lists, topics delivered, and learning outcomes. Lead training-of-trainers (ToT) sessions for Mercy Corps staff, farmer group leaders, and IDP representatives. Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Agriculture, Public Health, Agribusiness, or any other related courses with a minimum of (8) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment Experience working in conflict-affected or humanitarian settings is an advantage. Skills in M&E mapping and data analysis preferred. Strong capacity building, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple partners.
