Job description & summary We are looking for an experienced SAP AMS Manager to join our Technology Consulting team and lead the delivery of Application Managed Services for a major German banking client . In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure service excellence, and act as the primary point of contact for our client’s business and IT stakeholders. If you are skilled in service management , enjoy leading teams , and are comfortable navigating complex enterprise environments , this position offers an opportunity with significant client exposure and impact. You will: Lead and coordinate an Application Support team across L1–L3 (support engineers, developers, analysts). Oversee end-to-end AMS delivery and ensure adherence to defined SLA/KPI. Manage incident, problem, and change processes in line with ITIL. Plan and coordinate patching, upgrades, and overall application lifecycle activities. Drive release management and ensure smooth implementation of change requests. Act as the primary communication point for the client, conducting governance meetings in German. Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning within the AMS scope. Proactively identify opportunities for service optimization and process improvements. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards relevant to the banking sector. Requirements of the role Fluent German (C1/C2) for daily communication with client stakeholders. Proven experience managing SAP Application Support / AMS delivery in a complex enterprise environment. Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices. Experience in leading cross-functional teams. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills. Ability to manage incidents, drive root cause analysis, and lead stabilization initiatives. Nice to Have: Experience in banking or public-sector environments. Familiarity with service management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy). Experience working with nearshore/offshore teams. ITIL certification.
