ROLE SUMMARY Pfizer’s Global Identity Security and Access Management (ISAM) team plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s digital assets, protecting everything from our innovative scientific research to our manufacturing operations, and ensuring the security of the data we rely on to serve patients worldwide. This hands-on leadership role is designed for an individual who thrives in both a managerial capacity and enjoys actively contributing to coding, testing, and reviewing technical work. The Manager, DevOps will play a key role in leading a talented DevOps team while ensuring the successful deployment, automation, and scalability of our applications across both cloud and on-premises environments. As a technical leader, the manager will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation, while also being deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the DevOps lifecycle. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Identity Lifecycle Management and requires communication skills, and a strong drive for accountability, ownership, and pride in work. Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing both technical guidance and professional development. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Ensure the team follows best practices and adheres to timelines and quality standards. Hands-On Technical Contribution: Actively engage in coding, testing, and troubleshooting to help the team resolve complex issues. Review code and infrastructure changes, ensuring alignment with project requirements and quality standards. Work closely with development and operations teams to design and implement scalable, high-availability solutions. Automation & CI/CD: Champion the automation of manual processes, promoting the use of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Develop and maintain DevOps tools and systems to improve development workflows and operational efficiency. Process Improvement & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating current DevOps processes and introducing innovative solutions to optimize system performance and development cycles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies and best practices to enhance overall system reliability and security. Incident Management & Support: Lead and manage incident response processes, ensuring rapid resolution of production issues and minimizing downtime. Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect issues and maintain system stability. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role. Proven experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. In-depth knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go. Experience in cybersecurity or identity and access management solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools (Jira, Confluence, TestRail, etc.). Familiarity with API testing (Postman, RestAssured, etc.). ISTQB or similar testing certifications.
