Senior System Design Engineer (Ref.No. R1007962 ) at our location in Singapore Hitachi Rail Ground Transportation Systems (HR GTS) is a global technology leader in rail transport business with over 14,000 employees and expertise in Signalling, Communications & Supervision, Fare Collection, Digitization and Cybersecurity.  Our technologies help to bring billions of people reliably to their destinations every year - making sustainable mobility a reality. The Singapore Engineering team has a direct impact on commuter experience with improvements such as lower energy consumption, less service disruptions, and faster travel times thanks to our driverless Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) systems.  In particular, the team is leading the development and use of cloud-based solutions to leverage the abundance of data generated during day-to-day passenger operation for railways in every continent.  You will enjoy having these responsibilities: Technical delivery lead on a selected CBTC project representing engineering, ensuring the internal stakeholders are delivering as per customer’s expectations Manage technical project deliverables while ensuring on-time delivery First Point of contact for all technical matters to the internally and externally. Support in development and review system and subsystem design artifacts to meet Customer requirements (operational and safety requirements in particular) Analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with System technical requirements Participate in system performance monitoring and root cause analysis of issues faced in passenger metro operation or during testing using clould-based data analysis tools Present trade-off analysis, designs and investigations to engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms Contribute to productive technical discussions with Customers, Interface Contractors, and other internal departments Support bids and projects in Singapore and in the region including but not limited to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia Work in our world class CBTC simulation facility to gain hand-on experience with the signalling system hardware and software, while supporting in-house testing and issue investigations Support our Advance Development Projects including Next Gen Green CBTC and Data Analytics You have: Required: BASc in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design Engineering or equivalent Curious and willing to learn technical skills fast and on the fly Good analytical and problem solving skills Strong communication skills to interface with customers and GTS personnel around the globe Willingness to collaborate with teams overseas, which requires occasional evening calls Experience and knowledge in deploying CBTC technology Good To Have: Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Ruby Previous exposure to some of the technologies we use Our Talent Acquisition Team is looking forward to hearing from you We look forward to receiving your application in just a few clicks via our career portal.
