Job Description: Job Title Lead Engineer Location London Corporate Title Vice President Anti-Financial-Crime (AFC) Technology provides the tools required by the AFC function. AFC is responsible for defining, maintaining, and enforcing an effective risk management framework to reduce the risk that Deutsche Bank may be used to facilitate financial crime. Its role includes setting minimum standards and monitoring adherence to those standards, as well as defining and implementing controls that align with Deutsche Bank’s global legal requirements. AFC Technology is a 700 people organization responsible for ~€90m annual change book of work across 13 programs and the major locations are London, Frankfurt, Pune, Bucharest, and New York. As a Lead Engineer within AFC Technology, you will be responsible for technical leadership and delivery of one or more Java and Data intensive application(s) that are key for achieving Deutsche Bank’s future state Anti-Financial Crime capabilities. We have implemented a model that enables eligible employees to work remotely for a part of their working time and reach a working pattern that works for them Competitive salary and non-contributory pension 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days Life Assurance and Private Healthcare for you and your family A range of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme and Gym benefits The opportunity to support a wide ranging CSR programme + 2 days’ volunteering leave per year Your key responsibilities Responsible for design and delivery of key baseline components as well as future state components to transform AFC technology within Deutsche Bank into an industry leader Providing Technical leadership to one or two squads of highly skilled and motivated engineers working on business-critical product initiatives Working closely with Product Managers and Architects to understand business requirements and solution vision to chart out a viable delivery path Lead by example and provide hands on assistance to developers by crafting high quality code as well as performing regular code reviews Ensuring all software development follows best practice tools and methodologies and is delivered using all relevant bank standards Your skills and experience Proven track-record of successful IT (Information Technology) project delivery in a robust technology environment with a clear appreciation of software development best practices and Agile releases trains Strong experience within server-side development in Java, SQL, Search Technologies, Messaging Technologies with a good understanding of Kubernetes, Dockers and preferably some exposure to GCP (Google Cloud Platform), ReactJS, Python, Big Data Technologies like Spark, Beam Excellent personal organisation, completer/finisher, consensus builder with excellent communication skills and able to lead global development teams both directly and via influence. Extensive experience practicing TDD (Test-Driven Development)/BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) in a Continuous Integration and Delivery environment with strong DevOps/SRE culture. Thorough understanding of the wider Architecture & Technology landscape, emerging technologies and able to understand and communicate how they apply to the business domain and existing platforms.
