To interpret the business requirement specification and translate into a detailed system design specification to enable the development of innovative, flexible and efficient solution of a business problem Role Positioning This role is grounded in technical ownership and decision‑making . While business context is important, the Systems Analyst is expected to actively shape, validate, and defend solution choices, engaging directly with backend systems, integrations, and data structures. The role extends beyond documentation or facilitation, requiring hands‑on technical judgement to translate intent into implementable, technically coherent solutions. Technical Depth, Solution Ownership & Design Accountability To succeed in this role, the Systems Analyst must demonstrate deep technical capability and take clear ownership of solution design decisions within their domain, including: API‑driven solution ownership Strong experience working with APIs as core integration mechanisms, with accountability for analysing requirements, shaping integration approaches, and ensuring solutions are technically sound and fit for purpose. Backend and Java‑based system understanding Deep understanding of Java concepts and Java‑based backend systems, with the ability to reason about service behaviour, dependencies, and design trade‑offs when defining and evolving solutions. Data and integration design responsibility Proven experience working with relational and/or NoSQL data stores, with responsibility for understanding data models, querying and interpreting data, and ensuring data and persistence considerations are appropriately reflected in solution design and integration decisions. Are You Someone Who Can Deliver customer experience excellence in your own service delivery aligned to organisational values and service standards. Ensure system, process and efficiency improvements (including innovations). Analyse system technical requirements and convert them into solid solution designs. Conduct system requirement risk assessments. Define, develop and document functional interfaces between business systems — including API and integration designs. Build strong working relationships across teams to enhance delivery, collaboration and innovation. Control expenditure and identify opportunities for process improvement. Encourage and nurture collaborative relationships within your area of specialisation. Display and promote teamwork, inclusivity, and knowledge sharing. Participate in development activities that grow your career and technical capabilities. Ensure continuous improvement in operational processes. Compile reports that track progress and guide business decision-making. Manage risks within your area of responsibility. Create solutions that meet customer needs through adherence to quality service standards.
