They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.  About the Role As an Image Specialist, you will contribute to xAI's mission by training and refining Grok's ability to interpret and generate compelling and tasteful visual content. Key to this role is expertise in photography, digital art, or design, a track record of producing and sharing visual work, and experience with generative AI for images. Responsibilities You will use proprietary software to provide labels, annotations, and inputs on projects involving images and visual media. You must deliver high-quality curated data that captures visual nuances and enhances Grok's understanding of composition, lighting, color, and style. Required Qualifications Portfolio displaying excellence in visual work - photography, digital art, illustration, graphic design, or similar (personal website, X account, Behance, Dribbble, ArtStation, DeviantArt, etc.). Strong skills in composition, lighting, color theory, and visual storytelling. Hands-on experience with AI image generation tools (Grok Imagine, Midjourney, Nano Banana, Flux, Stable Diffusion, or similar). Ability to critically analyze and articulate what makes an image work or fail. Strong communication and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal English skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in photo editing, retouching, or post-production workflows. Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques for image generation models. Background in art direction, visual critique, or creative feedback roles. Familiarity with ComfyUI workflows. Location & Other Expectations Tutor roles may be offered as full-time, part-time, or contractor positions, depending on role needs and candidate fit. They may be performed remotely from any location worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role specific needs. For US based candidates, please note we are unable to hire in the states of Wyoming and Illinois at this time. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship. You must own and have reliable access to a smartphone. For those who will be working from a personal device, your computer must be a Chromebook, Mac with MacOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later. Compensation US based candidates: $45/hour - $75/hour depending on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications.  International candidates: Information will be provided to you during the recruitment process.
